INDIAN COFFEE HOUSE

Hi friends .welcome to our new section in this blog. WARNING (you have to be a food freak for this) we will try to explore some uncharted food destination in town.So here it goes.I really had a big list about such places but lets start with one of the oldest hangout places in city “THE INDIAN COFFEE HOUSE”…..we have three such places in town. at coffeehouse square near smriti cinema. One atWHC road and one at government medical college. This place has really got something special in it .when u enter there u r welcome by the waiters in their white uniform. The whole atmosphere is really enticing. That white long caps of waiter .those old fans, some add frames placed there. That typical old style cups. The copper plates where u get the bills. it really take u back to past and make you think about those olden days. Indian coffee house was started by the brithishers to promote coffee in Indian; there are n numbers of such coffee house in India. But after independence nobody was there to look after it and it went through the financial crises. But all the workers reunited and from the co-operative society named Indian coffee worker co-operative society. so lets discuss our main topic that what’s the specialty of the place. As the name suggest the coffee is damn good here, if u like a really like dark and strong coffee it’s the best place to get it. Apart from that south Indian snacks and north Indian snacks also available here. the taste is ok I will not say it very awesome .but this is the first place in town where you could get French toast ,bread and butter jam all that stuff. why not yaar it was started by British after all. but I guess we are not so much fortunate to get those original filter coffee here. they got some original British made bean roaster and grinder. But due to increasing competition and lack of promotion the business aspect is not so good so they have stopped using it, I happen to see those machines and felt really bad about it. I am giving some pics of it. Even the people really feel bad about it and want to start it again. Its not just a business for them its a tradition which they have cherished from years. Its all about the respect they give it to the customer its about the culture. Almighty knows when they those glorious days of ICH will come back and when we can have that traditional filter coffee again. But still I suggest you to try one cup coffee here. so see u there on some Sunday evening.LOCATION: coffee house square, whc rd, medical college campus.

VEERASWAMY!!

Hi friends. Hope u have enjoyed the coffee at Indian coffee House. Our next food destination is one of nagpur’s 100% south Indian restaurant .VEERASWAMI.veerswami is situated at coffee house square near smriti cinema. The first thing that will attract about this place is a sign board of it, it represent the typical banana leave logo which symbolizes that its south Indian restaurant. You may not be too happy with the space available here because you have to stand and eat here. The other thing is that you have to serve your self. But you will find this place always packed and full of crowd. The reason for that is the taste. The taste is the key for this restaurant that make people to come here and eat even in such awkward situation. Since it is south Indian restaurant the specialty is off course DOSA.IDLI.SMBAR WADA UTTAPAM UPMA Here you will get one of largest dosa in town so think twice before you order. Upma is very nice here and made specially in desi ghee.Smabar and Chutney are too good to resist. Apart from the south Indian snacks samosa are also available here. I really don’t know the reason but every thing here is so big in size even the samosa ,wada. .That’s why the rates are also a bit high.yup the rates are almost twice compared to other similar types of restaurants in town. But believe my friends that’s worth it!This is a classic example of what you can do if you make people crazy for the taste you provide .That’s the reason they can still have such high rates even they don’t have proper sitting arrangement and infrastructure. One more thing which I like personally is that you can see them making your dosa so if some one really wants try his hand in making perfect round dosa. You can peep through the glasses. So if you are crazy about south Indian food this a place for you.
LOCATION: coffee house square.
SPECIALITY: dosa, idli, wada.

CORN HUB

Hi friends. Our today’s food destination is CORN HUB. As the name suggest its all about the corn related items. Corn hub is not a so called famous food destination in town. I really don’t know the reason .May be because it’s bit new food point in town and really unexplored. But don’t worry we are here to help you .So something about location. It is situated at two places and both are on whc road.dharampeth. you will easily find it. We really don’t know when it was established and I don’t think any historical importance to this place exists. So we will straight away move to our main topic .what’s so special about it so it has got place in out top food destination. The taste. Yes it’s the taste as well as the quality of the food which bring it to our top food destination. The first things you will see in the menu are steamed corns .They got butter steamed corn, chutney butter corn, and many more. The cheese butter corn is too good to resist. One thing about this place which makes it my one of favorite is the quality of the corn they are using. It’s not a normal corn which you get in the market. Even I am eager to know from where hey get this corn, so if you happen to go there and find it please tell me. It is a nice real big golden corn. Some what like an American corn. Roasted corns are also written in the menu but they are not available. Cheese butter corn is really good here and you get a good thick layer of a cheese and butter over a golden steamed corn. If you are ordering a chutney corn you will get a chat masala type of spice to put on it. You will see all kind o f corn item right from corn pizza to corn cutlet. one more thing I would suggest is the corn pakoda .They are good at there place but the reason why order it is the special garlic chutney you get it with it .I really cant explain the taste but its some kind of blend of pickle and chutney. The corn hub is really a hub for an items related to the corn and a must try kind of food destination. The corn hub which is in front of pyramid mall is having an open to sky arrangement .so you can try it if you like to try some steamed corn in a fresh air.
